15 February 2010 ! at 3:38 PM ! Although I still struggle to make a concious effort to do HQ daily, I can honestly say it has been getting better & better. Once I start reading, the Holy Spirit just takes over & shows me the truth in His Word, setting me free time & again (: I feel so... liberated, reading His Word. & when the Holy Spirit has enlightened me, I know I have once again grown in my spiritual understanding. But of course, that alone is not enough. & I truly appreciate the personal respond section. :D Last week's Day 4 reading was awesome. Although... regretfully, it was only today that I caught up & did it, but I'm glad I did. It was on Col 1:3-14: Their Faith in Christ 3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints; 5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel, 6 which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit,[a] as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth; 7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf, 8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit. Preeminence of Christ 9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood,[b] the forgiveness of sins. I was blown away by the depth of God's wisdom, His brillance, His majesty. There is no way I can ever fully understand His perfect will, or His wisdom. But I am thankful that I can ask Him to grant me His understanding, even a small amount of it would prolly suffice my little mind. Having an omniscient God certainly puts me into place, I am but a tiny human, yet He loves me beyond anything. Mind-blowing, eh? :D Something that struck me deep. That I may walk worthy of Him, fully pleasing Him. This further affirmed my desire to be a godly woman, one truly seeking after His own heart, allowing no one else to captivate me till it is in His time. Now, you may be thinking,"Hey, I desire to awaken love when I kiss a boy or something." But the verse doesn't say to awaken love when you desire to, but when love desires to. And since "God is love" (1 John 4:16) we should awaken love in His timing, not ours. Although I've learnt it before, but I've forgotten. How do I know what I do is pleasing to Him? 2 ways, the Bible clearly points out. 1. Be faithful in every good work 2. Increase in the knowledge of God & from now on, my mind will be fully focused upon the things of eternal value. Not on temporal things, but on His things. Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (: & before I make decisions or react, I will ask myself if doing so will please God & how so. <3, CASS. |
