13 July 2007 ! at 10:54 PM ! If you belong in an uniformed organisation, you jolly well treat your uniform with respect. No excuses. And that means tucking in your shirts, wearing your belts, polishing your badges, no ankle length socks and whatever is required of a proper uniform. Okay, I'm mainly talking about the Guide uniform. I was extremely pissed and irritated that many people think guides are bimbos, guides are not tough etc etc. But now I know why people think this way. Personally, I feel a lot for guides. I chose this cca and I abide by the rules in this cca. I'm extremely irritated and pissed with guides who can't even wear their uniform with respect, with dignity. Like hello? Do you see people thinking this way towards ccas like npcc, ncc, red cross etc? NO YOU DON'T. People think they're cool and envy them. Difference? They abide by the rules, they take pride in their cca, they respect their uniform. YOU DON'T. What sparked me off was my sister. she had campfire today I think and when I saw her coming home from the bus stop I nearly exploded. Her shirt was out, her skirt short, her belt missing ankle length designed socks, scarf missing. I literally gave her a tongue lashing. It is ridiculous how she can even wear her uniform like that. Even in my worst nightmares I would never wear my guide uniform like that. Hello, you belong to an uniformed organisation and when people look at you, they're supposed to go wow, they're so cool and smart looking in their uniform and they look so nice. That's the impression YOU'RE supposed to give them, not let them look at you and go, wah lao, why they so slack, so untidy and so like that one? Seriously, take pride in your uniform, in your organisation and don't disgrace Girl Guides. This cca isn't meant for you to disgrace it, it's meant for you to develop a sense of belonging, to love and enjoy it. Sure, not even I can love every meeting or every event that happens during guides. But at least I take pride in the uniform and I respect it. And this applies to Crescent guides as well, ESPECIALLY crescent guides. Please don't disgrace the uniform and throw crescent guides' excellent reputation down the drain this way. Show others that guides are not lousier than any other uniform cca, it is as good or even better. <3, CASS. |
